ไทย: เครื่องหมายราชการของจังหวัดมุกดาหาร (ตราประจำจังหวัดมุกดาหาร) ตามประกาศสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี เรื่อง กำหนดภาพเครื่องหมายราชการ ตามพระราชบัญญัติเครื่องหมายราชการ พุทธศักราช 2482 (ฉบับที่ 214) [ว่าด้วยการกำหนดเครื่องหมายราชการประจำจังหวัด 75 จังหวัด] ซึ่งได้ประกาศใช้แทนตราประจำจังหวัดแบบเดิมอย่างเป็นทางการนับแต่ พ.ศ. 2547 เป็นต้นมา (ยึดถือตามวันที่ประกาศในราชกิจจานุเบกษา)

คำอธิบายตราประจำจังหวัด ของสำนักราชบัณฑิต เป็นบรรยาย ดังนี้

ปราสาทสองนางสถิต จังหวัดมุกดาหาร เดิมเป็นอำเภอหนึ่ง ขึ้นอยู่กับ จังหวัดนครพนม ได้รับการยกฐานะเป็นจังหวัดที่ 73 ของประเทศไทย เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2525

ตามประกาศดังกล่าว จึงถือว่าภาพนี้มีฐานะเป็นเครื่องหมายราชการ ตามพระราชบัญญัติเครื่องหมายราชการ พุทธศักราช 2482

รูป: ผ้าทิพย์อักขระอักษรย่อลาดรองพานแก้วมุกดา ตั้งอยู่ภายใต้ซุ้มเรือนยอด แบบปราสาท ๓ ยอด, วางพานประดับข้างละพาน เขตรอบด้านหน้าบอกปีพุทธศักราช ๒๕๒๕

ปรากฏความตามที่บรรยายในราชกิจจานุเบกษาดังนี้

ความหมาย: ภายในมีปราสาทชื่อ สองนางสถิต ภายในปราสาทองค์กลางมีแก้วมุกดาหาร อยู่บนพานไม้ใต้พานมีผ้าทิพย์รองรับ หน้าผ้าทิพย์มีอักษรไขว้ชื่อย่อของจังหวัด ในปราสาททองริมทั้งสองข้างมีบายศรีตะลุ่มอันเป็นเครื่องบูชาของชาวอีสาน เบื้องหลังมีพระธาตุพนมซึ่งจังหวัดมุกดาหารแยกมา และเคยอยู่ในอาณาจักรโคตรบูรณ์เดียวกัน มีแนวแม่น้ำโขงอยู่ด้านหลัง ด้านตะวันออก พระอาทิตย์กำลังทอแสงหลังหมู่ก้อนเมฆ พ.ศ. ๒๕๒๕ เป็นปีที่ตั้งจังหวัดมุกดาหาร
