• Boat participants are required to wear properly fitting Coast Guard Apv'd PFD's, and must state that they are able to perform unassisted self-recovery from a capsize. Sit-on-top kayaks are thus recommended. Sit-inside kayaks must have bailing equipment and fore and aft flotation chambers or secured flotation bags. Signal devices (e.g., mirror, whistle), cell phone or marine radio, and tow ropes front & rear, are recommended. New paddlers welcome. We are mature people paddling mostly sit-on-tops and some closed-deck (sit-inside) kayaks, and recently, stand-up paddle boards, with an occasional canoe when conditions permit. We like to paddle together on the water observing wildlife with respect.
